The Lomonosov Porcelain Factory is the old and still popular name for the Russian producer of hand-painted ceramics, the Imperial Porcelain Factory.
In 1744, Peter the Great’s daughter Elisaveta started the factory. In 1765 the name was taken, Imperial Porcelain. They were very early in producing a quality porcelain. The factory has changed its name several times since then but was renamed Lomonosov in 1925. The company was privatized in 1993 and changed its name in 2005 to the original name Imperial Porcelain.
Today Lomonosov porcelain is in the top porcelain brands, with its famous Cobalt Net pattern known all over the world.
