Mariana Manner (b. 1943) is an established Swedish graphic artist, painter and sculptor with academic roots in Malmö. She is known for her technical skill, variety and sharp choice of motifs – from bodily and environmental political themes to playful architectural works in the public environment.
Most recently, in 2024, Lund Art Gallery inaugurated a new public sculpture called “Åttan” in Kunskapsparken, Brunnshög. The work originated in Manner’s collaboration with architect Bernt Nyberg in the 1960s. You can read more about the project here, as well as listen to an interview with Mariana Manner.

Manner is well represented in both national and international institutions and has received recognition through several prestigious scholarships and awards. Some of her works can be found at, among others, Moderna Museet (Stockholm), Nationalmuseum, Gothenburg Museum of Art, as well as the British Museum (London) and Alvar Aalto Museum (Finland).
