Etching by Mariana Manner
Mariana Manner (b. 1943) is an established Swedish graphic artist, painter and sculptor with academic roots in Malmö. She is known for her technical skill, variety and sharp choice of motifs – from bodily and environmental political themes to playful architectural works in the public environment.
Most recently, in 2024, Lund Art Gallery inaugurated a new public sculpture called “Åttan” in Kunskapsparken, Brunnshög. The work originated in Manner’s collaboration with architect Bernt Nyberg in the 1960s.
